I am the Programme Leader of Film Studies at Liverpool John Moores University (UK) and managing editor of the journal Film-Philosophy. I have published on Michael Haneke, Jan Švankmajer, Czech cinema and a wide variety of other film-related subjects. I am interested in issues surrounding film theory and philosophy, film adaptation, Eastern European, African, Asian and art house cinema. I think that Freud is still worth reading.
